Herne Bay visit the Christopher Russell Stadium on Saturday afternoon as Phoenix Sports looks to secure their first win of the season.

New manager Darren Anslow has made several changes following last week’s defeat at Littlehampton and will be hoping for a positive response in his first home match in charge.

New signings Bradley Pritchard, Will Efambe, and Taite Holtam are all available and likely to feature, while Malachi Morris, Izzy Gray, and Marcus Elliott could also make their home debuts.

This week, Herne Bay secured a late win against Eastbourne Town. Prior to that, they lost 5-3 to Sevenoaks Town and beat Steyning Town Community 2-0.

Bay's three wins from six matches place them mid-table, a position they are likely to improve once they have played the same number of games as other teams.

Last year, both fixtures against Phoenix Sports ended the same way — with a 2-0 win for Herne Bay. Michael Salako and Gil Carvalho were on target in the home fixture, while a double from Salako secured the three points in the South East London visit.

Herne Bay manager Steve Lovell will be well aware that this is a revamped Phoenix Sports side, and he will surely prepare his team to face a hungry opponent eager to send his side home empty-handed.
