It was the visitors who opened the scoring after 10 minutes as the Hythe defence failed to clear the ball and it fell to Alfawaz Dada who slid the ball home.

However, the lead only lasted two minutes as an Oscar Wells corner eventually found Jake Goodman who bundled the ball over the line.

A minute before the break, Hythe got the goal that proved to be the winner as a deep cross found Jack Steventon at the far post to head into the Phoenix net. There were chances at either end during the second half with Phoenix having their first opportunity to equalise after 75 minutes when they were awarded a penalty after Steventon brought down Joe Thomas.

Up stepped Seye Okunlola whose penalty was saved by Hythe keeper Joe Coleman.
